In honor of International Waste Pickers Day, the Nairobi Recyclable Waste Association hosted the Waste Pickers Assembly 2025 — a pivotal event recognizing the contributions of waste pickers in advancing sustainable waste management and promoting a circular economy in Kenya.
This assembly brought together industry experts, government officials, civil society, and community champions to celebrate the often-overlooked heroes of environmental conservation — waste pickers.
